Holy Smokes Jakarta is a newly opened restaurant in South Jakarta. It just near the Senopati and Gunawarman area which you can find a lots of cafe and fine dining restaurant. This area has everything you need and probably the most visited area in Jakarta. You will never run out both good and new restaurants in Senopati or Gunawarman.

To be exact, it's located in Wolter Monginsidi just before KFC's Gunawarman. Quite easy to find because they displayed the holy smokes logo at the outside of the restaurant.

From the name itself we thought this must be related to another restaurant, The Holy Crab because it has the similarities. After making some quick research, yap! It's the same group.

The interior design is quite remarkable for us. They design with vintage style and added with some industrial elements. The combination of wooden chairs & tables, brick walls and wire fences clearly make it more vintage.

Yap! As you see our picture above they have speciality in slow smoked bbq. Cook using smoking method it's a long process to be done. It should be low and slow, what I mean is cook with low temperature and slow cooking speed. So the flavors from all the spices seep into the meat.

One of the most favorite menu they provide is Smokey Beef Brisket (142k) with 3 slices of beef brisket that cooked perfectly and added with two side dishes. They have various of side dishes you can choose such as baked beans, coleslaw, corn, green salad, homecut fries, potato salad, mac & cheese, onion straws, bbq chicken salad, and of course they also have rice.

The beef brisket was outstanding! Double thumbs up! Really satisfying when you can get good food and a new experience to taste this kind of smoked beef. The texture is tender and you can put the bbq sauce on it which make it so perfect! Every purchase of this menu also coming with the onion straws and personally I loved to eat this. It's crispy and tasty. The side dish was good enough, we got mac & cheese and homecut fries.

Beside their a la carte menu, they also have combo menu which in our opinnion has a decent price. You can get half chicken and a slice of brisket with Chicken & Brisket Combo (125k), beef and ribs combo (125k), or chicken and ribs combo for (160k).

When we tried to Holy Smokes on their public opening, we just curious with their Texas Short Ribs (278k) because it not yet available when we got there. We will return for sure to taste this one.

Good experienced and good food. Both great combination to spend our weekend, we are looking for another chance to try their other menu. Prepare your self to get smokin!
